Itamar Simhon, FNP-C, ONC, Medical Director, brings over 15 years of diverse healthcare experience to AmeriWell, combining advanced clinical expertise with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Orthopedic Nurse Certified practitioner, he leads AmeriWell’s medical services with a commitment to optimizing patient health and wellness.

His journey in healthcare began with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland in 2008, followed by a pivotal role in the Intensive Care Unit at Suburban Johns Hopkins Hospital. It was there that his passion for holistic, high-quality patient care truly took root.

In 2012, Itamar transitioned into leadership as the Clinical Nurse Manager of an advanced wound care clinic at Washington Adventist Hospital. Under his guidance, the clinic achieved national recognition, earning the “Center of Excellence” award for exceptional healing rates, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction.

To further deepen his expertise, Itamar pursued and earned his Master’s degree in Nursing from Simmons University in 2014, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He later achieved additional board certification in orthopedic nursing, broadening his ability to provide specialized, integrative care.

Today, patients can find Itamar Simhon delivering expert care and leadership at AmeriWell’s Takoma Park location (7505 New Hampshire Ave, Suite 320, Takoma Park, MD 20912) and Rockville location (110 N Washington St, Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850). Whether supporting recovery from injury, managing chronic conditions, or promoting long-term wellness, his approach is always rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and personalized care.

Outside of work, Itamar enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, rock-climbing, and surfing, and cherishes time with his wife and three children. His passion for living life fully mirrors the vibrant, supportive environment he fosters for AmeriWell patients every day.
