Dr. Samuel Christian is a board-certified general surgeon with over 30 years of medical experience, known for his compassionate care, surgical expertise, and commitment to community wellness.
A graduate of Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. (Class of 1984), Dr. Christian completed his general surgery residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey, where he was honored as Surgical Intern of the Year in 1992.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Christian practiced general surgery in Ohio for over two decades, where he led a multidisciplinary team specializing in obesity treatment through both surgical and nutritional care. His innovative work in weight management gained national attention when the Discovery Channel featured a groundbreaking case documenting a record 1,000-pound weight loss under his supervision. He later chronicled his holistic health and faith-based approach in his 2007 book, Mannafast Miracle.
Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. Christian has demonstrated unwavering dedication to humanitarian service—providing medical missions and disaster relief on the Hopi Indian Reservation in Arizona, and volunteering in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina as well as in Dominica during Hurricane Maria.
A retired Major in the U.S. Army Reserves, Dr. Christian served as a Battalion Surgeon, specializing in the treatment and rehabilitation of injured troops. His career reflects a lifelong mission of healing, service, and faith-driven medical leadership.
