When your back pain is accompanied by sensations of numbness, tingling, or weakness it could be a sign of nerve irritations or damage. This is especially true if the pain persists after taking over-the-counter pain relievers. Nerve pain is a serious issue and it can result in permanent damage or disability if left untreated.
Your Pain is Worse at Certain Times or in Certain Positions
If you are finding that your back pain is waking you up in the middle of the night, or is worse in certain positions then you should seek medical attention. This could all be a sign of something more serious. It could be a sign of a more systematic problem, such as an infection, a fracture, never compression, or many other things.
