Two People Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into Restaurant

Earlier this month, a car crashed into a restaurant in Rockville, Maryland, injuring two people. The crash occurred when a car traveling northbound on East Gude Drive lost control and crashed into the front of Peter’s Grill. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and one other person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the most common injuries suffered in car accidents is back injuries which can range from minor to severe. Some of the injuries include sprains, strains, fractures, and spinal cord injuries.

The following are some of the more common types of car accident back injuries.

Whiplash

One common back injury is whiplash, which occurs when the head is abruptly jerked forward and backward, straining the neck and upper spine. Whiplash can lead to symptoms like neck pain, stiffness, headaches, and restricted movement.

Herniated Disc

Another serious back injury is a herniated disc, where the discs between the vertebrae rupture or slip out of place. This can cause intense pain, numbness, and tingling sensations in the back, as well as radiating pain in the limbs.

Spinal Fractures

Spinal fractures are also prevalent in car accidents, especially in high-impact collisions. These fractures can damage the vertebrae, potentially leading to spinal cord compression and neurological complications. Depending on the severity, spinal fractures may require surgery and long-term rehabilitation.

Permanent Disability

In some cases, car accidents can result in permanent back injuries, causing chronic pain and mobility limitations. Individuals may experience difficulties with daily activities, reduced range of motion, and decreased quality of life.

The Car Crash in Rockville

The car crash in Rockville is a good example of how a seemingly minor accident can cause serious back injuries. The driver of the car that crashed into Peter’s Grill was only taken to the hospital with minor injuries. However, it is possible that the driver may have sustained back injuries that are not yet apparent.

Back injuries can take time to develop. It is not uncommon for people to experience back pain days or even weeks after a car accident. If you have been in a car accident and are experiencing back pain, it is important to see a chiropractor as soon as possible.
